poem by rachel for me

You asked me to write you a poem about
Cherry blossoms:

but
the smell
and sight
of pink
Cotton candy
Promises,
Anticipating the
coming season

Are difficult to describe.

I laid underneath the branches
and watched the
blossoms

Discerning the lines and
Formation of
Endless petals
and watching them sway
tossed by the wind,
then gently alighting to
the soft earth below

Cherry blossoms
And
My friend.

Unique and beautiful.
You are.
Gentle and
Somehow comforting
to my heart.
Sweet and steady
Your presence
radiates peace
and security

The sight of you
Brings Memories
Of the past
But also
reminds me of
the hope we have
for better days
to come

and when I see you
My beautiful
cherry blossom friend-
no matter where it is i am,
I know that I am
finally

Home.
